Gold pieces valued at approximately 80,000 euros, stolen from inside a residence in Serpa, in the district of Beja, were recovered by the GNR last Tuesday, reported Correio da Manhã. A 46-year-old man was constituted a suspect for being suspected of committing the crime.
The operation was conducted by officers of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Moura Detachment of the Guard, with reinforcement from the Serpa Territorial Post. According to the Beja Territorial Command of the GNR, in a statement, it was the identification of the suspect that made it possible to locate and recover all of the stolen goods.
"The action resulted in the recovery of various pieces of precious metal, valued at approximately 80,000 euros, with the goods being returned to their legitimate owner," indicated the GNR. The recovered objects were exclusively gold, according to a source from the Guard specified to the Lusa agency.
Following the conclusion of the proceedings, the facts were communicated to Serpa Judicial Court.
