PJ detains suspect of coercing minor to send sexual content through digital platforms
The Judicial Police, through the Northern Directorate, detained a 24-year-old man charged with the crimes of sexual solicitation of minors and child sexual abuse material, committed between 2020 and 2025 through computer platforms. The case was reported by Correio da Manhã.
The investigation began after the mother of a 14-year-old minor reported the case to the authorities. The woman reportedly discovered sexually explicit conversations with an unknown individual on her daughter's mobile phone, according to the PJ.
In the course of the investigations carried out, inspectors established that the suspect used so-called grooming—a process of online seduction—to convince the young girl to send him intimate and sexually explicit content.
With the aim of continuing to receive such content, "in greater numbers and more intrusive", the suspect allegedly then began to coerce the victim into sharing them on the internet, against her will, according to PJ inspectors.
The authorities collected digital evidence in the suspect's possession, including several photographs and videos containing child sexual abuse material. The man will be presented before a judge for the application of coercive measures.
