26-year-old man arrested for knife attack in Moita
A 26-year-old youth has been arrested by the Judicial Police of Setúbal, suspected of attempting to murder a 27-year-old family member in Baixa da Banheira, Moita. The attacker pursued the victim in the street and seriously injured him in the neck, leaving him paralysed from the waist down.

The Judicial Police of Setúbal arrested a 26-year-old youth, accused of attempting to murder a 27-year-old man in Baixa da Banheira, in the municipality of Moita. The victim is a relative of another person with whom the detainee had argued days before.
The incident occurred on 16 June, around 14:00, in a public area of the locality. Upon crossing paths with the injured party, the suspect began to pursue him, assaulted him and struck him with a razor blade in the neck area. The severity of the injuries placed the victim's life at risk and caused him instantaneous paralysis in his legs.
After the arrest, the accused was brought to court for the initial interrogation. The judge ordered pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint. The Public Prosecution Service office in Moita is coordinating the investigation.
