Suspect in petrol station robberies detained by PSP in Aveiro
The PSP detained a 34-year-old man on Thursday suspected of multiple robberies and thefts at petrol stations and other commercial establishments in Aveiro, according to observador.pt.
The detention occurred in execution of a detention warrant, following an investigation conducted over recent months in coordination with the Judicial Authority.
"The investigation, developed over the past months, in close coordination with the Judicial Authority, made it possible to gather evidence associating the suspect with the commission of various crimes, some of which were committed using a sharp weapon," the PSP stated in a statement.
During the detention operation, a search was conducted, which resulted in the seizure of various items: 10 boxes of tobacco vaporisers, five electronic cigarettes, a bicycle, a razor blade, a penknife, various pieces of clothing, two electric scooters, five laptop computers, a mobile phone and a printer.
The police force also indicated that the investigation will continue with a view to determining other possible criminal offences related to the suspect.
