45-year-old man held in preventive custody for drug trafficking in Chaves
The PSP detained a 45-year-old man in Chaves, seizing over 300 doses of cocaine and heroin, an illegal weapon and two vehicles. The suspect was remanded in preventive custody.
Individual detained in Chaves remanded in preventive custody for drug trafficking
A 45-year-old man has been remanded in preventive custody by the court after being apprehended by the PSP in Chaves, in the district of Vila Real. The detention resulted from investigative work carried out by the Criminal Investigation Squad in that northern city.
Officers confiscated 217 units of heroin and 110 of cocaine. In addition to these substances, they seized from the suspect an illegal pistol, two vehicles that were allegedly used in the illicit operation, a mobile phone and a sum of money.
Searches were also carried out at residences, where officers collected items considered useful for the case. The Vila Real District Command explained that the case concerns the introduction and distribution of narcotics in that area.
The detainee was brought before the judge, who decided to keep the suspect in custody whilst the inquiry is ongoing. The man now faces charges of drug trafficking.
