46-year-old man remanded in custody for setting forest fire in Vila Verde
The Vila Verde Court ordered remand in custody for a man arrested in flagrante delicto by the GNR for setting a forest fire. The suspect admitted responsibility and was found with a lighter in his hand.

Arrested with lighter in hand following complaint from members of the public
The Vila Verde Court today ordered the remand in custody of a 46-year-old man arrested in flagrante delicto on Wednesday by GNR officers from Prado for setting a forest fire in the municipality, according to Correio da Manhã.
The suspect was reported by members of the public who saw him start the fire. When GNR officers approached him, the man still had in his possession the lighter used to set fire to the brush and admitted responsibility for the fire.
The fire spread rapidly through the area and required the intervention of several fire brigades from Braga district to bring it under control.
Authorities determined that the suspect acted under the influence of alcohol. At the time of arrest, he presented an elevated blood alcohol level.
