A 54-year-old man was found dead on the floor of the living room of his home in Borba, partially undressed and bearing marks on his body. The Polícia Judiciária is investigating the case as a possible homicide.

A 54-year-old man was found dead in the living room of the house where he lived in Borba, in the Alentejo region, undressed from the waist down and bearing marks on his body that raised suspicions among the authorities. The alert was raised by a friend, who contacted the GNR (National Republican Guard) because the man had not answered his telephone for some time, according to Correio da Manhã.
The body was discovered at around 16:00 on Friday. The appearance of the corpse led GNR officers to suspect that death was not recent. Faced with the scenario found at the scene, the GNR activated the Polícia Judiciária, which sealed off the space and began forensic examinations.
The Polícia Judiciária inspectors are treating the case as a possible homicide, although only the investigation can confirm the circumstances of death. The body was transported to the Alentejo Central Medical-Legal and Forensic Office in Évora, where an autopsy will be carried out to clarify the causes of death.
Correio da Manhã established from sources at the scene that the victim was not originally from Borba. Despite living in the Alentejo town for ten years, the man maintained a very small social circle. Neighbours interviewed by the newspaper revealed that he lived with another man, but was alone when the body was found. "They are people who don't even say good morning when they pass by, they barely speak to anyone here," said a resident.
