57-year-old man accused of shooting ex-partner with homemade firearm in Albergaria-a-Velha

Defendant lured victim to house under pretext of expenses before shooting
The Public Prosecutor's Office of Aveiro brought charges against Marcelo Nogueira, aged 57, for six crimes, including qualified homicide, possession of a prohibited weapon and four counts of aggravated domestic violence, according to Correio da Manhã.
The victim, Maria dos Anjos Nogueira, aged 59, was the defendant's former partner. Nogueira allegedly lured the woman to the house where he lived, in the municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha, in the district of Aveiro, claiming he wanted to address matters related to shared expenses.
Once in the dwelling, the defendant fired at Maria dos Anjos with a homemade weapon that he had constructed himself. The shot struck the victim in the head. The crime occurred in April of this year.
The prosecution's charges include, in addition to qualified homicide, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon — relating to the weapon manufactured by the defendant himself — and four counts of aggravated domestic violence, which refer to incidents prior to the homicide.
