According to dnoticias.pt, the PJ stated in a press release that the detainee is suspected of the crimes of sexual coercion and rape. The complaint was filed by a relative of the victim, and the PJ carried out "immediately, measures to obtain evidence that allowed the contextualisation of the abusive acts of a sexual nature committed against the victim, a supported adult, at her residence".
The suspect is a relative of the victim's guardian and appears to have taken advantage of "the ascendancy and the manifest relationship of trust and influence" that he held over the victim and the rest of the family household. According to the PJ, the man "decided to subject her to abusive sexual practices under the pretext of initiating her into sexual life".
