A 29-year-old individual was apprehended by PSP in the Portuguese capital, accused of violently attacking a woman in the Martim Moniz area using a large white weapon.
The episode, which lasted approximately 20 seconds, was recorded on video and disseminated on digital platforms. The images show the attacker, in an agitated posture, wielding a 55-centimetre machete. The man passes by one of the entrances to the Martim Moniz Metro station and strikes multiple blows to the head of a woman who was sitting on the pavement. Subsequently, he walks away calmly, while a passerby attempts unsuccessfully to prevent the action.
PSP proceeded with the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of the weapon used in the attack.
