An 85-year-old man was apprehended by the GNR in Monção, in the district of Viana do Castelo, for aggravated threats. The incident occurred on Friday in a restaurant establishment.
The officers were dispatched to the establishment following a disturbance. The investigation on the premises confirmed that the octogenarian had intimidated another customer using a firearm.
In a search of the detainee's vehicle, agents found a revolver accompanied by eight rounds, a shotgun with 196 cartridges, and a dagger. The total amount of ammunition seized exceeded two hundred.
The individual was formally named as a suspect and the matter was reported to Monção Court.
