The GNR in Mafra has detained a man accused of robbing elderly people in the municipality, using a modified weapon to intimidate victims.

A 25-year-old individual was arrested by investigators from the GNR in Mafra, suspected of several robberies targeting elderly people in the municipality.
In addition to physically assaulting victims, the man used a modified weapon to coerce them. The weapon was seized by military personnel.
The investigation began in April of the current year. On Tuesday, an operation was launched aimed at executing three search warrants, in both houses and other spaces, in the areas of Torres Vedras and Lisbon.
In addition to the detainee and the weapon, military personnel seized a mobile phone and various wires and bracelets, which are presumed to be the proceeds of the robberies.
The individual was brought before a judge and placed in preventive custody.
