Public Prosecutor orders Criminal Investigation Department investigation into death of 20-year-old found lifeless in Oliveira de Frades
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Judicial Police was called to investigate the case of Lauren Clemente, a Brazilian woman in her twenties, whose body was found lifeless on a Tuesday morning in the municipality of Oliveira de Frades. The instruction came from the Public Prosecutor, at a time when the autopsy report had already ruled out the theory of homicide.
According to reporting by the newspaper Correio da Manhã, the deceased presented injuries to the neck and the body was already in rigor mortis at the time of collection. The National Republican Guard authorities initially verified that the location showed no signs of a crime, a perspective later corroborated by medical examination.
However, the relatives of the deceased do not agree with the version of an accidental or natural occurrence. In light of this objection, the Criminal Investigation Department is to carry out fieldwork and deepen the inquiry.
