The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) has reopened the investigation into the death of Vika, the 25-year-old Ukrainian woman whose body was found in the Tagus River in April last year. According to Correio da Manhã, the decision comes after Vika's mother has repeatedly pointed out flaws in the course of the investigation — concerns which the MP ultimately accepted.
As part of the reopening, the authorities have ordered analysis of the young woman's mobile phone, a procedure that may not have been carried out satisfactorily in the initial phase of the investigation. Vika's mother believes that this examination could be crucial in clarifying the circumstances of her daughter's death.
