The assault occurred at 07:00 on Tuesday in the building where the victim resides, in Vilela. The son, who was sleeping at home, woke up to his mother's screams and intervened to protect her.
52-year-old woman stabbed by ex-partner in Paredes in front of her son
A 52-year-old woman was attacked with a kitchen knife by her ex-partner, aged 54, in the building where she lives, in Vilela, Paredes, in the Porto district. The incident occurred at around 07:00 on Tuesday.
The presumed attacker went to his ex-wife's building and began the attack with a domestic blade. The victim suffered blows to the abdominal region, as well as to her arms and legs. The woman's son, who was sleeping at home, was woken by his mother's screams and ran to defend her from the man's attacks.
After receiving aid at the scene, the victim was transported to hospital. The injuries were considered minor. The attacker was also injured and received medical assistance at the scene before being detained by the GNR.
Given the nature of the crime, which can be classified as attempted murder, the investigation was handed over to the Judicial Police.
