Eight injured in night of violence in Greater Lisbon: stabbings in Loures and shootings in Amadora
Four men were stabbed in Sacavém and four shot in Loures, Lisbon and Amadora in a Sunday night marked by fights and disorder.
Sunday night leaves eight injured in multiple incidents in metropolitan area
Correio da Manhã reports that the Sunday night was marked by a succession of episodes of violence in Greater Lisbon, with at least eight men injured in shootings and fights recorded in Loures, Lisbon and Amadora. Police authorities are investigating all incidents and seeking to identify those responsible for the attacks.
The first incident took place just minutes after midnight, on Rua Pero Escobar, in Bairro da Quinta do Mocho, in Sacavém. Four men were stabbed, three of whom suffered serious injuries. The victims were taken to São José, Santa Maria and São Francisco Xavier hospitals in Lisbon.
About an hour and fifty minutes later, at 01h50, the PSP was called to Bairro do Talude Militar, also in the municipality of Loures, where a 30-year-old man was shot during a party. Hit in an arm and a leg, he was transported by friends to Camarate Fire Station and then transferred to São José Hospital in serious condition.
By 07h05, a shooting at a full party on Rua de Cabo Verde, in Lisbon, injured a 39-year-old man in a leg. The party had around 50 people. The injured man was admitted to São Francisco Xavier Hospital. On a street adjacent to the party venue, authorities found a vehicle with two bullet holes caused by a firearm.
The last incident recorded on the night occurred at 08h15, in Cova da Moura, in Amadora, where two young men aged 23 and 26 were admitted to Amadora-Sintra Hospital with firearm injuries. Both suffered injuries to the head, back and upper limbs, but their lives are not in danger. The young men were hit during a disorder in the neighbourhood.
