At least four individuals were arrested on the morning of Monday, 15 June, as part of an operation by the National Republican Guard (GNR) against illegal drug trafficking. The operation took place in the Bairro da Emboladoura, in Gondar, in the municipality of Guimarães.
The Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of Guimarães was responsible for launching the operation, which formed part of an investigation into drug trafficking in that area. GNR officers began searches at approximately 06h30 and established control over the access routes to the residential complex.
According to reporting by Mais Guimarães, one of those arrested is a man who had been evading authorities for over two years due to an attempted homicide case.
Searches continued throughout the day, with officers gathering evidence for the ongoing investigation.
