An agricultural businessman aged 72 has been sentenced to six years of effective prison time after hitting a group of five young people with several shotgun blasts who had entered without authorisation on one of his rural properties in the municipality of Benavente. The case was reported by Correio da Manhã.
The businessman's son, a law student aged 22, received a sentence of five years and six months in prison for the same crimes. The farm's caretaker, aged 38 and the only one of the three defendants who did not fire shots at the victims, was sentenced to three years in prison with the sentence suspended.
According to Correio da Manhã, the three defendants assaulted a group comprised of three boys and two girls who had invaded the farm estate without authorisation.
