Two foreign nationals were arrested by the PJ on Friday, suspected of robberies at mobile phone shops and a kidnapping offence in the cities of Braga and Guimarães.

The Judicial Police arrested two foreign nationals aged 35 and 24 on Friday, suspected of multiple robbery offences and kidnapping in Braga and Guimarães, according to observador.pt.
The arrests were carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department in Braga, pursuant to arrest warrants issued outside of flagrante delicto.
The older suspect is being investigated for three completed robbery offences, one attempted robbery offence and one kidnapping offence. The younger suspect is being investigated for one completed robbery offence, committed in complicity.
The facts occurred between 11 June and 11 July 2026, targeting mobile phone shops in both cities.
Both suspects were brought before a judge for initial questioning at the Court of Guimarães on Friday and were remanded in custody.
