A judge of criminal instruction at the Guimarães Court issued remand in custody for two of the three individuals accused of an armed robbery at the Tia Isabel restaurant in the city of Braga. The third person involved in the criminal act was placed under obligation to present himself periodically at a PSP police station.

The three defendants are aged between 23 and 35 years old and were heard at their first judicial interrogation.

The robbery took place in the early hours of 28 to 29 April, in an area near the South bypass of the city. The owner of the establishment and an employee suffered physical assault during the attack. The group took a bag containing approximately 50,000 euros, a sum representing the accumulated earnings over several days of operation of the premises.

Investigations conducted by PSP Braga officers gathered sufficient evidence for the issuance of search warrants and arrest warrants. On the basis of these judicial orders, the authorities managed to identify and apprehend the three suspects. The last to be detained had initially managed to escape the police cordon and, on the night before his court appearance, resisted the police forces when he was finally located, and was subsequently arrested.
