Four youths convicted of threatening police officers during Covid-19 restrictions

Marinha Grande Court has convicted four youths of having threatened to kill, insulted and surrounded PSP officers during the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, reports Correio da Manhã.
The facts date back to the period of pandemic prohibitions, when officers responded to a residence where a party was taking place with participants who did not live at the location. In response to police intervention, the four youths directed death threats and insults at the PSP officers present.
The court imposed prison sentences on all the defendants, having suspended the execution of the sentence for only two of them. The suspension was made conditional on compliance with a specific obligation: the two youths who benefited will have to submit a written apology to the four officers involved. The remaining two convicts will have to serve an effective prison sentence.
