Bag containing €38,000 and ecstasy found near Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon
A Hospital de Santa Maria employee handed over to police a discarded bag containing money, savings certificates, drugs and mobile phones. The investigation was delegated to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

An employee of Hospital de Santa Maria in Lisbon handed over to the PSP a bag found on a public street near the health facility's premises, containing €22,000 in cash, 11 savings certificates with a total value of approximately €16,000, 1,510 individual doses of ecstasy — equivalent to 151 grams — two mobile phones and various other objects.
According to Correio da Manhã, the discovery occurred on Thursday. The employee who found the bag stated that it had been at the location for several days, which is why he decided to hand it over to the PSP post within the hospital itself.
In total, the value in money and securities amounts to €38,000, part of which in savings certificates — a savings instrument issued by the Portuguese state.
PSP notified the Public Prosecutor's Office
Following the handover, the PSP immediately informed the Public Prosecutor's Office of the discovery. The investigation was delegated to the same police force, which began proceedings to clarify the circumstances in which the bag ended up at that location and to determine the origin of the seized goods.
The provenance of the money and drugs remains to be clarified.
