At least six individuals were arrested as a result of confrontations that occurred between protesters and police forces in the proximity of the Assembly of the Republic in Lisbon.

The detainees are suspected of the crimes of disobedience, resistance and coercion against a public official, according to information released by Correio da Manhã.

The police authorities intervened at the scene to restore public order in the face of the disturbances recorded during the protest. The incident led to the arrest of the six suspects, who were subsequently brought before the competent judicial authorities.

The case is being followed by the services of the Judicial Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
