Seven foreign nationals detained and vessel seized in anti-drug operation in Arrifana, Aljezur
The GNR detained seven men and seized a rubber dinghy on Arrifana beach in Aljezur as part of an operation targeting logistical support for drug trafficking.
Seven detained on Arrifana beach in GNR operation against drug networks
Seven men were detained and a rubber vessel seized on Arrifana beach in Aljezur following an operation to dismantle logistical support for drug trafficking networks. According to Correio da Manhã, all those detained are foreign nationals and are charged with participation in drug trafficking activities.
The operation was launched following the detection of suspicious activity on that beach, located within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Military personnel from the Coastal and Border Control Unit and the Aljezur GNR post intervened at the scene.
The rubber dinghy, allegedly used as a means of support for the transport of narcotics, was subsequently removed from the beach using machinery.
