Two individuals were wounded by gunfire in the early hours of Sunday, in a neighbourhood in Olhão, in the Algarve. The incident is believed to have resulted from a settlement of scores linked to drug trafficking.
The victims were transported to Faro Hospital. One of them has more serious injuries. The Judicial Police is investigating the case, but faces difficulties due to a lack of cooperation from both the wounded individuals and any potential witnesses.
The perpetrators of the shots remain at large. Until Monday, no arrest had been made. The PJ maintains an ongoing operation to try to locate and capture the presumed assailants.
