Three arrested in Peniche for drug trafficking held in preventive custody
The PSP arrested two men and a woman in Peniche for drug trafficking, seizing 635 doses of various drugs. The three were placed in preventive custody following judicial interrogation in Leiria.

Google News PT — Crime (pt) reports that the PSP arrested three people suspected of drug trafficking in an operation carried out in Peniche on 19 August.
According to the Leiria District Command of the PSP, the Peniche Squad executed two domestic search warrants and three arrest warrants not in flagrante delicto, as part of an investigation process delegated by the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of Peniche.
"Two men aged 27 and 39 and a woman aged 30 were arrested for crimes related to drug trafficking and various types of narcotics were seized, corresponding to 635 individual doses, namely Cannabis, Cocaine, Hashish and MDMA, as well as cutting agent", the authorities stated in a communiqué.
A total of 570 euros in cash was also seized, two scales, bags for packaging individual doses, several computing and electronic equipment, a pepper spray canister, a machete and a baseball bat.
During the operation, a 22-year-old young man was arrested for insulting law enforcement officers. Two women, aged 37 and 44, were identified for possession of hashish and cocaine and referred to the Commission for the Dissuasion of Drug Dependency.
The operation involved 36 police officers from the Leiria District Command, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command and the Special Police Unit.
The three drug trafficking suspects were presented for initial judicial interrogation on Friday in Leiria, before the competent judicial authority. The most serious coercive measure was applied to them: preventive custody. The detainees were subsequently taken to the prisons in Leiria and Tires.
