A defendant was sentenced this Tuesday by the Aveiro court to three years and eight months in prison, with execution suspended, for the crimes of extortion and money laundering. A monetary fine was set at 9,500 euros.
According to the prosecution, the woman attracted several men on social media, persuading them to send intimate photographs. Subsequently, the victims were contacted by an individual posing as a police officer. The impostor demanded payment of 1,500 euros to remain silent with the victims' family members about the fact that they had exchanged compromising images with a minor.
The total proceeds generated by the criminal scheme amounted to approximately 9,500 euros.
