Arad: Sister's partner held for prolonged sexual assault of 15-year-old teenager
A 38-year-old man in a relationship with the older sister of a 15-year-old girl has been placed in preventative custody by magistrates in Arad, suspected of sexually abusing the minor over the course of 12 months.

Magistrates in Arad have issued a provisional detention order against a 38-year-old man suspected of maintaining intimate relations with a 15-year-old girl over the course of an entire year. The judicial decision orders 30 days of preventative detention.
The alleged offences took place during the period April 2025 – March 2026. The suspect lived together with the victim's older sister and, according to the indictment, used this position to get close to the girl, gaining her trust before subjecting her to repeated abuse.
Prosecutors from the Public Prosecutor's Office attached to the Arad District Court announced that they have launched criminal proceedings against the defendant for the offence of rape of a minor, committed in a continuous manner. On Sunday, investigators submitted a request to the court for deprivation of liberty, and the judge for rights and freedoms approved the measure.
