Former Romanian football official detained following violent incident in Ploiești
According to sport.ro, George Daniel Bozieru, former president of CSL Ștefăneștii de Jos and former employee at Dinamo and Rapid, has been placed under house arrest for 30 days. He is being investigated alongside Alexandru Constandachi, known in online circles as "The Vigilante from Berceni", in a case involving assault and deprivation of liberty.
The two were initially detained for 24 hours after being questioned at Ploiești Police Section 4. Subsequently, the judge for rights and freedoms at Ploiești Court ordered house arrest for both men for a period of 30 days.
The incident allegedly occurred on 31 August 2026. According to investigators, Constandachi reported to Ploiești Police that he had immobilised a 25-year-old man, suspected of having had sexual relations with a 16-year-old adolescent against her will. A criminal file was opened against the man for rape of a minor.
The detained man subsequently filed a complaint, claiming he had been assaulted and deprived of his liberty by Constandachi and Bozieru. On the basis of this complaint, the two are being investigated for deprivation of liberty and assault or other forms of violence, according to Observatorul PH, as cited by sport.ro.
Bozieru denied the accusations in a Facebook post, in which he stated that the investigation is ongoing. "We are not criminals and we do not consider ourselves guilty of either of the two acts for which we have been charged as defendants", the former official wrote.
