A 22-year-old man has been placed in preventive arrest for 30 days, suspected of having struck the 2-year-old daughter of his partner in a home in Techirghiol.

Magistrates at Medgidia District Court have ordered the deprivation of liberty of a 22-year-old man for a period of one month. The decision was taken following a proposal by the prosecutor handling the domestic violence case.
The alleged incident occurred during the night of 30–31 May 2026. Investigators claim that the individual, who was in a common-law relationship with the victim's mother, had exercised physical violence against a two-year-old girl.
Police from Techirghiol initiated investigations under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office. At the end of May, the suspect was detained for one day, having been apprehended on the basis of evidence gathered in the case. Subsequently, judges validated the request for provisional incarceration.
The young man is now in the Preventive Detention and Arrest Centre. The legal representative of the minor was provided with the necessary documentation to request a protection order from the court.
