Judges at Bucharest Court of Appeal have admitted a motion by lawyer Mihai Rapcea and have annulled the judicial supervision measure in the case in which he is being investigated for distributing materials with fascist content.

Judges at Bucharest Court of Appeal admitted on Thursday the motion filed by lawyer Mihai Rapcea and decided to annul the preventative measure that was keeping him under surveillance. The decision is final and was pronounced in a closed hearing, according to G4Media.ro.
Rapcea has been under the scrutiny of investigators from the Prosecutor's Office attached to Bucharest Court of Appeal – Criminal Investigation Section, in a case numbered 575/160/P/2026. The subject of the investigation concerns the dissemination of content of a fascist, legionary, racial or xenophobic nature. At the end of June, police conducted a search at his residence, and prosecutors subsequently ordered that he be placed under judicial supervision.
The defence lawyer challenged the prosecutor's order, and on 7 July 2026 the court ruled in his favour. The court rejected the exceptions raised by the defendant, as well as his request to refer the matter to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, but admitted his complaint against the preventative measure. Court costs shall be borne by the state.
Mihai Rapcea is a known figure in online circles for messages targeting the Jewish community and for promoting legionary ideology. Although he is no longer subject to judicial supervision, criminal proceedings against him continue.
