A man from Arad County has been remanded in custody for 30 days after hitting, shoving and threatening to kill a hunting ranger, and snatching the phone with which he was being filmed.

A man investigated for assault and aggravated robbery has been remanded in custody for 30 days after attacking a hunting ranger on game reserve 68 – Petriș, in the outskirts of Roșia Nouă locality, Arad County, on the night of 21 to 22 August, according to News.ro.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor attached to Lipova Court, the incident occurred around 01:00. The suspect punched the ranger in the chest, shoved him and threatened him with death.

The assault did not end there. The accused, identified by the initials M.S.E., initially moved away from the victim's vehicle, then returned in front of the left front door, with the window open. "He asked the victim why he was filming him and, by exercising violence, namely by striking the victim's arms with his palm, managed to take the victim's mobile phone, snatching it from his hand," the source states.

The suspect left with the phone, stopped the recording and threw the device approximately 50 metres from the scene, in a vegetation area.

On 23 August, a prosecutor from the Office of the Prosecutor attached to Lipova Court proposed the man's remand in custody. The judge for rights and freedoms admitted the proposal the next day, on 24 August, ordering his remand for 30 days. The man is accused of assault and aggravated robbery.
