Singer Cristian Pomohaci has been referred to trial for high-risk drug trafficking by DIICOT Târgu Mureș. The Court of Appeal upheld the preventive arrest, rejecting the defence team's appeal.
Singer Cristian Pomohaci prosecuted for high-risk drug trafficking
DIICOT – the territorial bureau in Târgu Mureș has ordered that performer Cristian Pomohaci, already detained in a detention facility, be referred to court on suspicion of trafficking in prohibited substances of high risk.
The preliminary examination magistrate at the county court rejected the requests submitted by the defendant's legal team, namely the annulment or replacement of the deprivation of liberty with the measure of house arrest. The decision was appealed, but judges at the superior court dismissed the appeal, thereby maintaining the original decision.
The evidence material shows that between 2024 and 2026, the man allegedly acquired, retained and distributed to various consumers doses of crystalline substances included in the category of high-risk narcotics. During a search in June, police officers discovered 20 grams of 3-CMC at the artist's residence in Târgu Mureș, as well as substantial sums of cash in several currencies.
It should be noted that the performer was already incarcerated in another case, being investigated for sexual offences committed against a minor.
