A 38-year-old man from Bacău was remanded in custody after prosecutors from DIICOT apprehended him immediately following the collection of a package containing drugs that had arrived from the United Kingdom.

A 38-year-old man, domiciled in Bacău, was detained by DIICOT prosecutors immediately after collecting a package that contained drugs. The narcotics had been sent from the United Kingdom, and the suspect allegedly purchased them whilst on the territory of the United Kingdom, according to investigators.
The individual had reached an agreement with another person for the goods to be sent to him in Romania. Once the package was collected, law enforcement officers placed him in handcuffs on the spot.
Following three searches carried out in the city of Bacău, police officers found additional prohibited substances, tablets of various kinds, and objects on which traces of drugs were detected. Three vehicles belonging to the suspect were placed under seizure.
Judges ordered the remand in custody of the man for a period of 30 days. The investigation continues regarding the alleged commission of the offence of international trafficking of high-risk drugs.
