According to Servuspress, the seizure represents one of the largest quantities of drugs confiscated in the Jiu Valley area in recent times. The method of transport chosen by traffickers – the use of courier firms – is frequently encountered in drug trafficking cases, offering an apparent layer of anonymity to those involved.
Police officers in Petroșani acted on the basis of operational intelligence and managed to block the delivery of the parcel containing the cannabis. The investigation is continuing with a view to identifying all members of the distribution network and the source of supply.
