10-year-old child used in drug dealing in Arad: ten detained, seven held in custody
A criminal group in Arad allegedly used a 10-year-old minor to sell cannabis. Ten suspects were detained, and seven of them placed in preventive custody.

A 10-year-old child was allegedly used by members of a criminal group in Arad for selling cannabis, according to G4Media, citing Agerpres. Ten suspects — nine men and one woman — were detained for trafficking in controlled drugs and trafficking in high-risk drugs.
The County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Arad announced on Wednesday, through a press release, that the suspects allegedly purchased, possessed, handled, brokered and sold cannabis and crystalline substances — 3CMC, 4CMC and α-Ethylaminopentiophenone — during the course of this year, at prices ranging between 100 and 1,400 lei per transaction.
"The investigation showed that two individuals, a man and a woman, members of the same family, allegedly sold cannabis also through a 10-year-old minor," the IPJ Arad statement said.
Following 14 home searches carried out on Tuesday, investigators seized quantities of vegetable and crystalline substances, grinders, precision scales and sums of money. Drugs and psychoactive products had been confiscated during the course of previous investigations as well.
Prosecutors from the Directorate for Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Arad ordered the detention of the ten suspects. Subsequently, Arad Tribunal approved the preventive arrest of seven of them; one woman was placed under house arrest.
The case involves offences of trafficking in controlled drugs, trafficking in high-risk drugs and carrying out operations with substances liable to produce psychoactive effects, without authorisation.
