Two men from Prahova held for cannabis trafficking in 2026
A 36-year-old man was placed under preventive arrest for 30 days, whilst another aged 26 was placed under judicial control, both being investigated for drug trafficking in Prahova County.
Arrests in Prahova following DIICOT investigation for cannabis trafficking
According to ziarulprahova.ro, a judge for rights and freedoms within Prahova Tribunal has ordered the preventive arrest for 30 days of a 36-year-old man, investigated for trafficking in high-risk drugs. A second man, aged 26, has been placed under judicial control, a measure ordered by a DIICOT prosecutor – Territorial Service Ploiești, in the same criminal case.
According to data provided by IPJ Prahova, the evidence presented shows that the 26-year-old is believed to have procured, possessed and sold quantities of cannabis in the period February–May 2026, at a price of 60 lei per gramme. The 36-year-old man is believed to have possessed and sold the same type of drug throughout Prahova County during the whole of 2026.
Following searches carried out, quantities of cannabis were seized, some of these portioned and wrapped, grinders, objects bearing traces of substance and other items of evidence.
Prahova police continue their investigations, under the coordination of a case prosecutor, with a view to establishing the full criminal activity of the two men.
