A network distributing banned substances has been dismantled in Brașov municipality, where law enforcement officers succeeded in arresting two members. The investigation began after two 23-year-olds arrived in serious condition at the hospital unit in February of this year following use of products sold by the group in question.
According to data published by G4Media.ro, which cites a Romanian Police statement, the two defendants are suspected of purchasing, storing and reselling high-risk drugs and psychoactive substances in the form of chemically-treated plant material during the period February to June 2026.
The investigation established that in February, the suspects allegedly supplied such products to the two young men mentioned. They used them together, and subsequently required specialised medical intervention. This incident triggered the inquiries that led to the identification and pursuit of group members.
During the inquiry, law enforcement seized multiple doses put up for sale by the two. At the raid carried out at their home, 60 packets of high-risk drugs and psychoactive substances were found and seized, items contaminated with material residues, documents, cash in national currency and other evidence.
During the operation, to prevent discovery of the evidence, one of the two threw several packets out of the window of the room where the kitchen was located. A police team positioned near the building recorded the scene, and the recordings are to be used as evidence in the file, according to reports on Digi24.ro.
The prosecutors of DIICOT – Brașov Territorial Service decided to hold the two in custody. The judge for rights and freedoms at Brașov Court approved the prosecutors' request and issued a warrant for the preventive arrest of both. Officers from the Special Operations Service of Brașov Police Inspectorate also took part in the action.
