A couple from the municipality of Brașov has been remanded in custody, being accused of procuring, possessing and trafficking drugs of high risk and psychoactive substances. According to a statement issued by the Romanian Police, the criminal activity took place between February and June 2026.

The two allegedly sold plant-based substances impregnated with various chemical compounds. In February, two 23-year-old youths allegedly purchased such products from them, which they consumed together and subsequently required medical care.

During the raid conducted at the suspects' residence, law enforcement found and seized 60 small packets with narcotics, objects contaminated with the substance, documents, sums of money and other evidence. To prevent the discovery of the drugs, one of the two threw several packets out the kitchen window.

DIICOT prosecutors – Brașov Territorial Service ordered the detention of the two, and the judge for rights and freedoms at Brașov Court approved the preventive arrest proposal. The operation was supported by officers from the Special Actions Service within the Brașov Police Inspectorate.
