A 54-year-old teacher who teaches at an educational institution in Medgidia was taken into custody for 24 hours. The woman is suspected of abusive behaviour and disturbing the peace, after she allegedly struck and insulted a 10-year-old boy during lessons, according to a statement from IPJ Constanța cited by Digi24.
The incident took place on 25 May in the classroom. The minor allegedly destroyed a piece of paper containing his personal grades from the national examination. In response, the teacher allegedly assaulted the child physically and directed insulting words at him. The woman's reaction allegedly caused panic and outrage among the other pupils.
The child's parents alerted the police on 26 May. Officers launched an investigation and decided to detain the suspect. In the meantime, law enforcement officials provided the minor's legal guardian with a form to request a protection order from the court.
The woman is being investigated for abusive conduct and disturbing public order and peace.
