On Monday morning, a team from the economic police in Ilfov descended on the headquarters of a waste collection company located in Sintești commune. The operation is part of a broader investigation into possible financial fraud.
According to the investigation, the company's administrators allegedly recorded in the accounting registers acquisition transactions that did not actually take place. At the same time, there are indications that part of the income was not reported to the tax authorities, which allegedly led to non-payment of sums owed to the state.
Specialists calculated that the damage to the public budget amounts to approximately 270,000 lei.
Prosecutors are continuing to coordinate the investigation, with the aim of establishing whether the facts constitute the offence of tax evasion and who bears responsibility.
