A 48-year-old man opened fire on his former partner and her relatives in Hunedoara county, subsequently being held in preventive custody for one day.
Investigators have notified him of several serious charges. Among these are attempted murder of a family member, breach of a protection order issued previously, disturbance of public peace and order, violation of regulations regarding the possession and use of weapons and ammunition, carrying and use of a weapon without legal authorisation, and illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition across the border.
Law enforcement forces proceeded to immobilise the suspect, and investigations continue to clarify all circumstances surrounding the attack.
