Spiritual guide in Bucharest held on suspicion of rape and sexual assault against multiple young women
Dragoș Argeșeanu was held for 24 hours and is to be presented to magistrates with a proposal for pre-trial detention. Investigators are calling on other victims to file complaints.

Dragoș Argeșeanu, known to the public as a spiritual guide, was held by police on suspicion of sexual assault, rape and attempted rape, according to ProTV News.
The case came to the attention of investigators in May, after several young women told journalists at the publication Snoop how they had been abused by him.
According to the Criminal Investigation Service, Sector 4, between 2020 and last year, Argeșeanu allegedly touched the intimate areas of three young women without their consent, under the pretext of therapy sessions. The acts allegedly took place both at his office in Bucharest and in a building in Sibiu.
On 3 October 2022, while he was in a hotel room in Ialomița County, the man allegedly raped one of the victims. In March 2024, at the Bucharest office, he allegedly attempted to rape another young woman.
After gathering evidence, police officers executed three home search warrants in Bucharest and Ilfov County, seizing additional evidence. Argeșeanu was taken for questioning and held for 24 hours, to be presented before magistrates with a proposal for pre-trial detention.
Investigators are appealing to other young women who have been to his office to file complaints. Journalists at Snoop claim they have identified dozens of alleged victims.
Before publication of the investigation, Argeșeanu was confronted by journalists and denied all accusations. He could not subsequently be contacted for a statement.
