On Tuesday, three individuals belonging to the Duduianu and Pian groups were placed in detention for a period of 24 hours. The measure was taken following interrogations that lasted several hours, in a case handled by prosecutors.
The three are suspected of recruiting and sexually exploiting several women. According to the accusations, they were part of a well-organised structure that managed prostitution activities in various areas of the capital.
The decision to detain them was issued following an operation coordinated by investigators, with the support of law enforcement. The three are to be brought before a judge with a proposal for preventive arrest.
The Duduianu group is considered one of the most influential organised crime structures in Bucharest, having been associated over the years with pimping, extortion and acts of violence.
