Tolea Ciumac was remanded in custody for 30 days following a violent incident that occurred on the night of 12 to 13 September in the Old Town district of Bucharest.

MMA fighter Tolea Ciumac has been placed in preventive custody for 30 days after magistrates issued the corresponding order, according to Jurnalul.ro. Judges determined on Sunday evening that the athlete represents a public danger, thus extending the initial 24-hour detention measure.
"Against the man suspected, the magistrates have ordered the measure of preventive custody for 30 days," the General Police Directorate of Bucharest Municipality (DGPMB) transmitted.
The incident took place on the night of 12 to 13 September, when police officers from Section 27 took action of their own accord following the appearance of images in which two men assaulted each other in front of an establishment in the Old Town. According to investigators, the conflict escalated, with one of the men continuing to strike the other repeatedly.
Following checks carried out, Ciumac was initially held for 24 hours, being investigated for assault or other violent acts and disturbance of public order and peace. The injured person stated that they did not wish to file a complaint.
The investigation continues under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the District 3 Court, with the aim of establishing all the circumstances in which the incident occurred.
