A 16-year-old boy has been issued a preventive arrest warrant for one month, accused of attempting to engage in sexual acts with his minor cousin, aged nine years old.

A court in Buzău County has issued a preventive arrest warrant for a 30-day period for a 16-year-old adolescent. He is suspected of attempting to commit sexual abuse against a 9-year-old boy, who is his first cousin. The decision was made by the Pătârlagele District Court, at the request of prosecutors, according to information published by G4Media.ro.
According to investigators, the incident allegedly took place on 5 July 2026. The young man allegedly attempted to compel the child to engage in sexual relations, taking advantage of the age difference and the family relationship between them.
The case is all the more serious given that the suspect has another criminal investigation underway at the same prosecutor's office. In that case, he is being investigated for rape of the same victim, being suspected of having committed repeated sexual acts in the period 2024-2025.
Prosecutors at the Office of the Pătârlagele District Court are continuing investigations.
