Minor aged 17 caught with drugs in backpack during ridesharing trip in Bucharest
A 17-year-old adolescent has been detained by police officers from the Organised Crime Fighting Brigade of Bucharest, after being documented selling cannabis, cannabis resin, ketamine and crystalline 3-CMC substance in exchange for sums between 700 and 1,100 lei, according to agerpres.ro, citing a statement from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR).
Caught in traffic with approximately 100 grams of cannabis
According to the IGPR statement released Thursday, the minor's criminal activity was documented by police officers from the Anti-Drugs Service, together with prosecutors from the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism Offences – Central Structure. The adolescent is being investigated for trafficking in high-risk and major-risk drugs in continuing form.
From the evidence presented, it appears that during the month of March, the minor had repeatedly possessed and sold various types of banned substances. He was detected in traffic, as a passenger in a ridesharing trip, whilst transporting approximately 100 grams of cannabis in a backpack, 35 grams of cannabis resin, 18 grams of crystalline 3-CMC substance, 18 grams of ketamine, 14 tablets containing active substance alprazolam, a precision scale, a vacuum-sealing device and several objects bearing traces of substance, according to the statement cited.
Transactions arranged through online applications, delivery to established location
Investigators established that the minor predominantly used online applications to contact his clients. After establishing the quantity, type of drug and price, he would transmit to buyers the location and time of meeting for the handover of substances and collection of money. The investigation further revealed that the adolescent used different locations rented on a hotel basis for storing the drugs.
During the investigation, police officers seized high-risk and major-risk drugs. Following the house search carried out on Wednesday, several types of substances were discovered and seized — currently undergoing expert analysis — as well as other evidence items, the Romanian Police inform.
Proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days
On Thursday, the judge for rights and freedoms at Bucharest Court was presented with a proposal for preventive arrest of the minor for 30 days.
