In Buzău County, law enforcement launched an investigation after discovering dozens of vehicles dismantled without permission and tonnes of household waste from illegal activities stored on a property in Cochirleanca village.

Four individuals, employees of a commercial company in the area – three men and one woman, aged between twenty and forty-seven – are under investigation. They are suspected of carrying out vehicle dismantling operations without the necessary authorisation, of storing the obtained parts in non-compliant conditions, and of setting fire to the resulting waste.

On 9 June, officers from the Bureau for Weapons, Explosives and Hazardous Substances within the Police Inspectorate of Buzău County, supported by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Court in Râmnicu Sărat, executed seven home search warrants, approved by magistrates of the same court.

During the raids, law enforcement confiscated 49 vehicles in various stages of dismantling and approximately 15,000 kilograms of vehicle components for the purposes of continuing the investigation.

The investigation is being conducted under the direction of the prosecutor's office for offences related to unauthorised waste management and illegal incineration thereof.
