Drug trafficking network dismantled in Cluj County: 60 kg of cannabis seized, four arrested
Four men from Cluj County have been placed under preventive arrest for 30 days after being accused of trafficking and possession of risk and high-risk drugs, the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police (IGPR) announced on Saturday, according to newsweek.ro.
According to IGPR, two of the detained individuals, aged 41 and 53 respectively, initiated and developed, over the course of 2026, several outdoor cannabis cultivations located at the edge of the built-up areas of three localities in the county. The plantations were situated in secluded areas, not visibly marked and concealed by dense vegetation, with the aim of commercialising the products.
"These individuals allegedly sold cannabis to consumers in Cluj County for amounts between 350 and 3,000 lei. Additionally, the 53-year-old man allegedly also traded other risk drugs, namely ketamine," IGPR specified.
The other two suspects, aged 26 and 56, allegedly procured, possessed and sold both cannabis and high-risk drugs from the category of crystalline substances.

On 9 October, 14 search warrants were executed. As a result, investigators seized:

The four individuals were initially detained for 24 hours, and on Saturday the court ordered their preventive arrest for 30 days.
