Investigators conducted raids at seven residences. In total, four men were taken for questioning and subsequently detained. They are aged 25, 38, 40 and 47 respectively.
The suspects are believed to have consistently sold highly dangerous narcotic substances, as well as products with psychoactive effects, in Hunedoara County from 2025 until June 2026, particularly in Deva. The drugs were sold in the form of crystals or dried plants. The investigation established that some of them cooperated with each other, assisting in supplies or directing clients to other dealers.
In the case of one of the four, investigators also retained a charge relating to traffic regulations. In early June, he allegedly drove a car on public roads without a licence, also causing an accident.
In addition to those detained, two other suspects were placed under judicial supervision.
During the searches, law enforcement confiscated multiple packages containing plant matter and crystalline substances. Tests showed that these contain high-risk drugs and psychoactive compounds. An electronic scales and money were also found.
On Thursday, prosecutors requested the court order the preventive arrest of the four for one month. The judge of rights and freedoms at Alba Tribunal approved the request.
Police from Deva, SAS officers from Hunedoara, gendarmes from the "Glad Voievod" Mobile Group Timișoara and from the Hunedoara County Gendarmerie Inspectorate also participated in the operation.
